Here are the final Astros statistics for Season Two. Please bear in mind that there are sometimes players with outstanding numbers but limited at-bats or innings pitched. The obvious “why didn’t they play more” question is usually answered in three ways:
• The batter hit so well because of a significant platoon split, and the numbers would have sank if they had played against both left and right-handed pitchers.
• Because every player’s statistical baseline is altered from 30% up to 30% down every season (randomly, and impossible to view that ratio) sometimes a player with a powerful positive modifier isn’t discovered until later in the season.
• Injuries may have limited the player’s availability during the season.
