Erstad should be starting first baseman. I loved Morales, but seriously?

Jay, we have Erstad on LA's inactive roster and based on his best three-year average (1998-2000) I've got his peak OPS at .831 - that ranks him behind Mike Napoli, Don Baylor, Kendrys Morales, and Troy Glaus. He was a very good player for a long time but I think he only had one spectacular season (in 2000).

Don't you also consider defense?

You bet - the game ranks players a defensive scale of 1-10 wherever they have played enough games to earn eligibility. Here's how the first base-eligible Angels on the 40-man roster rank defensively: Napoli/Erstad 7, Joyner/Glaus/Kennedy 6, Baylor/Kendrick 5, Morales 4. Erstad also ranks as a 6 in LF/RF and a 7 in CF.
