All players in Eternal Baseball have their statistical baseline established by taking their best three consecutive seasons and averaging them to isolate their statistical peak. We had 52 current MLB players who either turned in a season strong enough to be added to their three-year peak stats, or were 1-2 year players who automatically had 2022 added to their peak stats. Here are the players with new stat lines for 2022:
GREAT 2022: Luis Castillo (SEA), Shane Bieber (CLE), Lance McCullers Jr. (HOU), Shohei Ohtani (LAA), Julio Urias (LAD), Sandy Alcantara (MIA), Corbin Burnes (MIL), Aaron Judge (NYY), Zack Wheeler (PHI), Andrew Kittredge (TB), Vlad Guerrero Jr. (TOR), Teoscar Hernandez (TOR), Kyle Finnegan (WAS)
YOUNG PLAYERS AUTOMATICALLY GETTING 2022 ADDED TO THEIR STATS: Max Fried (ATL), Garrett Whitlock (BOS), Emmanuel Clase (CLE), Luis Garcia (HOU), Jake Cronenworth (SD), Randy Arozarena (TB), Wander Franco (TB), Shane McClanahan (TB)
Keep in mind that a player like Paul Goldschmidt (who had a monster 2022 for the Cardinals) would not have his stats updated because he plays for the Diamondbacks in Eternal Baseball and his 2022 stats in St. Louis would not change his peak stats for Arizona.
Season Three of Eternal Baseball will get started after the MLB World Series!
